Selling My Mother's House

 (2/26/14)

Don't ever try to sell a house

that's middlin' in-between.

It may be way too average

to ever quite be seen.

The old, the new, the super cool --

that's what most people want.

With in-betweeners, lookers just

walk in, walk out, and taunt.

Even if your house is strong

and doesn't have a lien,

it still may sit for years and years

and never quite be seen...

Take pix and write it up, Big Font!

It does no good at all.

Walk in, walk out, walk all around.

The house begins to haunt…

It was a long, long process. Didn't want to rush her, but an 85 year old living in a 10-room, 2 story house...  House inspection, September, 2012. A ton of repairs, painting, re-carpeting took 9 months. On the market early June, 2013. Almost a year, during which she moved to an independent living apartment a few miles away. Finally SOLD and closed May 23, 2014! (It was a particularly dismal market at that time in that place).

*I do realize the rhyme scheme changed in the last verse. That's because that's me. Not serious, just having fun.
