chard

Leaves of grass or leaves of chard,
both are growing in my yard.
Though they do not get much sun,
I am having lots of fun.

Up to now I have to buy
chard from Tony, lettuce guy,
at the market Saturdays --
(Get up early, do not laze).

Rainbow chard we had tonight,
wondrous olive-oily bites,
Garlic, onions, wonder food,
salty, savory, stinky stewed.

But I want to grow my own
in my little seven zone:
independence, that's true riches...
(oops, it's time to do the dishes)!

waiting

Sushi on the counter rests;
wait for manthing, that's the test.
I am hungry, pacing round,
want to eat one, but I've found:
eat just one and then it's two...
I have faults, yes, just a few.
Waiting is not strongest trait,
'specially if he's being late.
That is why I'm on this blog,
trying not to be a hog!

Thinner till dinner

Pasta when you cannot think
what's for supper, what to drink.
Drench with garlic, tomato,
(open wine and let it flow).
Parsley, feta on the top,
add turn-table of be-bop?
When your dinner has no plan,
go Italian -- I'm a fan!

Lost list

what new book should i read next,
something juicy, something sexed?
history or science fi?
learned, serious and dry?
where's my list, it's ten miles long...
cannot find it -- that's what's wrong!

look on GoodReads for some clues;
what did she read? what reviews?
what am I without a book?!!
oh so empty in my nook.
Could I write one in spare time?
No I couldn't, 'less it rhyme!

rhyme time might fight to elevate and replicate

Friday needs a brand new post.
Something silly, that's the most
that my brain cells can create
just before I work-vacate.
Boy, that sounds so delicate,
let's repeat that rhyme -- first rate!
Oh another! that's a feat;
now the post is quite replete.
Did you see? Internal rhyme!
Not a dozen for a dime.
Is this dumb or is it neat?
Should I "publish" or delete?!!

April approaches...

what's the matter, why so glum?
is it 'cause your brain is numb?
do your eyes begin to twirly?
oh so sorry, poor old girly...
doing taxes all alone --
it's no wonder that you moan.
come along, attack the form;
math, for most part, is the norm.
come on now, you'll feel so smart,
it is really time to start.
every year is 'bout the same;
let's at least fill out your name!

Weekend! or, three catalogers want to go home

What a challenge came our way
(and so late p.m. Friday)
m and d and triple c...
those old dates take all us three!
Old Greek books, well, are they right??
We don't have the mental might.
Title page and which edition?
Anarchy, three-way sedition.
Table them until next week;
three subconsciousnesses seek
o'er the weekend answer true.
Then we'll know just what to do!

time warp with Meg

There's a girl in France today,
twenty years her age, I'd say.
Just like me when I was young,
gone to learn that foreign tongue.
Listening to her stories now
brings me memories of how
markets, cheese and cool cafes --
these all made me want to stay;
flower stalls and table wine,
Musee Fabre seemed like mine!

Iron will

No, I'm not sick, I am not ill,
because I have an iron-clad will...
I'm only thawing broth congealed
to make my stupid, clogged nose yield
to reason. It must not succumb...
Too late! I find that it is numb
from tissues and my health maligned,
I'm mad and somewhat, (ick), resigned.
I'll make this nose feel such remorse...
from it I'm filing for divorce!!

saturday

aspirin's quite a sacred thing
even if it makes ears ring.
when the ice pick's in the shoulder
little pill is worth some gold, or...
worth a day of getting done
tons of stuff, plus lots of fun.

i say that this is just a test;
that means it's not my very best.
it's practice of the blogging kind,
i am just starting, flying blind.
